Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion launches new brand identity, website, and messaging and program structure

Jun 12, 2020

As the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion continues to help lead local efforts to combat anti-Black racism and pursue our mission of mobilizing all Hamiltonians to create an inclusive and welcoming city, we are excited to announce the launch of our new brand identity, website, and messaging and program structure.

We initiated this project several months ago and decided to accelerate its rollout as the intensity of our work and stakeholder engagement has continued to increase. Having served Hamilton since 2006, our organization has evolved while staying true to our foundational mandate. Our new website highlights our growing efforts in organizational mentorship, supporting the establishment of organizations like the Disability Justice Network Ontario, Rafiki, and Never Gonna Stop. It also showcases our team, our partners, our contributions to Hamilton over the years, and current programs such as the Hamilton Civic Leadership Program, Black Youth Mentorship Program, and Anti-Racism Conference.

Our new, bold visual identity includes a change to red as our primary colour as a reflection of our passion, energy, courage, and care for our community. Our distinctive new logo demonstrates our intention to keep powerfully organizing and aligning efforts of diverse individuals and groups to bring about meaningful and progressive change. We will continue to bring forward and amplify the stories and voices of the people and organizations in Hamilton who are fighting oppression and seeking equity and justice.

We thank local marketing agency FlyPrint who guided us through this entire process and its execution. In particular, we appreciate their expertise in building us a website that meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA standards to ensure that our stakeholders with disabilities are able to engage with our content.
